The first aero jersey project was named Split Second. In 2006, when Castelli designed the first aero jersey for road racing, people thought we were nuts. Back then, aerodynamics was only for time - trials, and performance clothing focused on moisture management. A baggy polyester T - shirt - like jersey could even help you win the Tour de France. Our aerodynamic consultants expected minimal gains, so we named it Split Second. But the gains were significant, and we transformed the look of the pro peloton. Now, we're on the sixth major update of our aero jersey. Each new version is more aerodynamic and better - fitting. The Aero Race 6.0 uses CFD analysis of wake flow in the riding position to place fabric and seams. It also takes feedback from Team Ineos riders, ensuring comfort during long - hour training and racing in all weather. Version 6.0 is our most aerodynamic and comfortable Aero Race Jersey so far, and we're already working on 6.1.
